I love you. If you were to materialize in corporeal female form, we would make extended, languid love; thumbing-up and thumbing-down until we found just the right spot. You always seem to know when I need something fresh and new, or when a great classic will satisfy me. When things get a little stale, you don’t mind bringing someone new into the mix. I like that about you, Pandora. In fact I like everything about you.

Everything… except…

This is hard to say and you have every right to be upset, so here it is: sometimes you send mixed messages. It doesn’t happen often, but you must understand that the cognitive dissonance is like a bolt of lightning turning my cerebrum into hot marbles. Or like being forced to watch Fox News a la A Clockwork Orange.

Describing this errant behavior is too painful. Luckily I have a picture. I only show you this with hope that it will help prevent such occurrences in the future.

It just doesn't make any sense. What am I supposed to think??

Let’s not do this again? Please? I still love you, Pandora, but I don’t know how much of this I can take before I turn somewhere else. That last.fm down the street is a sexy minx…

Some people have a hard time telling others the gritty facts of life. Luckily, my sister is NOT one of those people. This aspect of our relationship goes both ways, and I think we handle it maturely (thereby making us more well-adjusted than most siblings…)

The point being, she dropped the above gem on me today. I don’t think it was necessarily the quality of my blogging that was being called into question (fingers crossed) so much as the quantity. And let’s face it, one post in ten days after creating this monstrosity isn’t exactly going to launch my blogging career to the tippy-top of the ‘sphere.

At least I know somebody is reading the damn thing.

Thus, I resolve to try and post (at least) every other day. Starting now until what I’m sure will be the tragic and untimely demise of the Freshness, mourned by billions worldwide, you can reliably expect to come here three times a week for new content. No guarantees regarding the bleeding-edgedness of this content: I may be feeling lazy and uninspired and slop down three bland paragraphs about how you should be using The Extension Formerly Known As Foxmarks (lmgtfy? you know who you are) or something like it.

This… could get ugly.

Serendipity

After a quick tweak to my “About” page, my next order of business was to select a visual theme for the Freshness. I eventually hope to design my own custom CSS, but until then a pre-made layout was the way to go. Nothing on the first page of options stood out as a proper fit, so I clicked the “Next” button. In a moment describable as ridiculously coincidental, having just decided to name my blog “the Freshness”, I see a theme called “Freshy.” The preview sealed the deal and now the Freshness is Freshy! I have to give credit where credit is due, so check out the designer of Freshy.
